Export Windows Phone contacts to the cloud
The easiest way to export contacts from a Windows Phone is to synchronize the phone book with a Microsoft account, then with Outlook.com, and download the contents of the phone book via a browser, using any computer with Internet access.
If, as most likely, during the initial setup of Windows Phone / Windows 10 Mobile you have already associated your phone with a Microsoft account, you hardly need to do anything. You can go directly to the next part of the tutorial and find out how to download contacts to your PC via Outlook.
If not, that is, if you have not yet associated a Microsoft account with your Windows Phone, go to the menu Settings phone (the gear icon found in the menu with the list of all the apps installed on the device), select the item e-mail and account from the screen that opens and presses the button add an account.
Then select the logo of Microsoft, pigia sul pulsating access and fill out the form proposed to you with the login credentials of your Live / Hotmail / Outlook account. If you don't have a Microsoft account yet, create one by pressing the appropriate button and filling out the form that is proposed to you.

Your smartphone address book should now automatically synchronize with Outlook.com. For safety, however, I recommend that you access the settings of the Contacts app and check that the synchronization option is active in the latter.

Export Windows Phone contacts offline
Do you want export Windows Phone contacts without resorting to cloud-based services? Then open the Microsoft Store and download applications that allow you to export contacts in the form of VCF or CSV files, which can then be used on other smartphones, tablets, computers and online services. Now I recommend a couple of the best "on the square".
Contacts+message backup
It was used Windows Phone 8.1, I suggest you try Microsoft's free contacts + message backup app which, as the name suggests quite easily, allows you to export the contacts and SMS present on your phone to a microSD card or to a folder in the internal memory. The application, as mentioned, is only optimized for Windows Phone 8.1, so if you have a smartphone equipped with Windows 10 Mobile, go to the solution that I will suggest in the next chapter of the tutorial.
To download contacts + message backup to your mobile, open the Microsoft Store (the bag icon with the Windows logo in the center), presses the icon of magnifying glass which is located at the bottom of the screen that opens and searches, precisely, contacts+message backup.
At this point, select the application icon from the search results (the folder with an arrow inside) and press the button Install which is located at the bottom left to start the download. At the end of the installation process, go to the menu of Settings Windows Phone (not in the screen with the list of all the apps installed on the device), scroll to the bottom and select the item related to contacts+message backup.
Now, if your smartphone does not have a microSD card or in any case you prefer to save contacts in a folder of the internal memory, press the button (...) located at the bottom right, press the icon pick a folder and choose the path in which to save the contacts (you have to press on checkmark at the bottom of the screen to confirm your choice).
When done, press the button backup present on the home screen of the application, put the check mark only next to the item contacts (otherwise the SMS will also be saved) and presses the button backup to start exporting contacts.
At the end of the export you will get a file in VCF usable in any e-mail client or Web Mail service, in my tutorial on how to open VCF files you will find more information about it. To recover the VCF file from your smartphone you can connect the device to your computer or you can use a file manager and auto-send it to you via email. You are spoiled for choice!
Contacts Backup
If you use a smartphone equipped with 10 Windows Mobile, you can consider the free Contacts Backup application, which allows you to export contacts in your address book as a VCF, CSV, XLS or TXT file. It is very simple to use and supports direct export to the smartphone memory, sharing contacts via email and saving them on OneDrive.
To download Contacts Backup to your device, open the Microsoft Store (the shopping bag icon with the Windows logo in the center located on the home screen), presses on Campo di Ricerca placed high and looking Contacts Backup. Then, tap on the application icon (the blue address book with the white handset printed above) in the search results and proceed with its installation by pressing the button Get.
Once the installation is complete, start Contacts Backup selecting its icon from the menu with all the apps installed on the smartphone (which you can access by swiping from right to left on the home screen), presses the button NEXT to grant her access to the address book and OneDrive and scroll the screen that opens, until you reach the box Options.
At this point, expand the drop-down menu Backup File Format and choose in which format to export the contacts in the address book between vCard File (VCF), CSV File, Excel File (XLS) e Notepad File (TXT). Once this is done, choose whether or not to exclude contact photos from the backup by moving to ON or on OFF the relative levetta all'opzione Don’t Include Photos and select the destinations to export the backup to: Save to OneDrive to save contacts to OneDrive, Send To Email to send them by e-mail or Save to Phone Memory to save them locally on the smartphone memory.
