Disable Audible from computer
Disable Audible is a quick and easy procedure, through which you can disable the automatic renewal of your subscription to the Amazon service dedicated to audiobooks. Once put into practice, you will still be able to access your library until the expiration date indicated in the account and, in case of change of mind, reactivate the subscription with a simple click.
To proceed with the deactivation of your subscription from PC, connected to the main page of Audible, click on the button Log in at the top right, enter your login details in the fields Email address or mobile number e Password e pulsing sul pulsating Log in but I will access your account.
On the newly opened page, click the option Hi, [name]! at the top right, choose the item Dettagli dell'account from the menu that appears and click on the option Cancella l'iscrizione present under the box My subscription. On the screen Cancel subscription, indicate the reason for your cancellation by placing the check mark next to one of the options available between I am using another service, I didn't know it was a subscription, I don't use it enough, Is too expensive, Audiobooks are not for me, I couldn't find audiobooks that I liked, I had technical problems e Other reasons (pointing to them in the field Tell us your thoughts) and click on your button Cancel subscription.
If everything went well, you will see the message We are sorry to see you go. Your subscription has been canceled indicating that you have successfully deactivated the automatic renewal of your subscription. It will be useful to know that you will be able to continue listening to Audible audiobooks until the date indicated in the box My subscription, after which you will no longer have access to your library. Furthermore, in case of second thoughts, you can reactivate your subscription at any time by pressing the button Restart your subscription.
If you have a computer equipped with Windows 10 and you have downloaded the Audible application, you can deactivate your subscription also using it. After starting it, if you have not already done so, log in to your account by clicking on the button Log in and entering your credentials in the fields Email e Password, then click on the entry Store present in the sidebar on the left and select the option My Account.
In the new screen that appears, locate the section Account settings and click sul pulsating Clear relative all'opzione Cancel your subscription. Then place the check mark next to one of the available options (Is too expensive, I don't use it enough, I couldn't find audiobooks that I liked, I am using another service etc.) to indicate the reason for canceling your subscription and press the button Unsubscribe.
Disable Audible from smartphones and tablets
If you don't have a computer available and you're wondering how disable Audible from smartphones and tablets, you should know that, at the time of writing this guide, it is not possible to cancel the automatic renewal of your subscription using the Audible application for Android and iOS devices. However, using the browser and activating the desktop mode of the website of the dedicated audiobook service, it is possible to deactivate the subscription to Audible.
To proceed, start the browser you usually use to surf the Internet (eg. Chrome your android e Safari on iOS) and connected to the main page of Audible, then press the button ≡ at the top left, tap on the item Log in, enter your login credentials in the fields Email (phone for mobile account) e Password Amazon e pulsing sul pulsating Log in but I will access your account.
Now, press the ≡ button again, choose the item Account Details from the menu that appears and, in the new open page, tap on the option See account details. If in the section My subscription the message appears Your next billing date is [date], it means that your subscription is active: to deactivate it, you need to switch to the desktop mode of the Audible site.
If you have a device Android and you are using Chrome, press the icon of three dots in alto a destra and selects the voice Desktop site. If, on the other hand, you have a iPhone or iPad and use Safari, tap the arrow icon inside a square in the bottom menu and choose the Request desktop site option.
After activating the desktop mode of the Audible site, press on the item Cancel subscription present under the box My subscription, specify the reason for your "abandonment" by placing the check mark next to one of the available options (Is too expensive, I don't use it enough, I couldn't find audiobooks that I liked, I am using another service etc.) and presses the button Cancel subscription.
It will be useful to know that if you change your mind, you can reactivate your subscription at any time. If you have a device equipped with Android, start the Audible application by tapping its icon (a open book on orange background), tap the button ≡ at the top left and choose your options Store e My Account from the menu that appears, then press on the item See i dettagli dell'abbonamento and check its status.
If the message appears Your next billing date is [date] it means that your subscription is active, otherwise you will see the entry Canceled - you will lose your membership benefits on [date]. In the latter case, scrolling the screen down and tapping the button Restart your subscription, you can reactivate the automatic renewal of your Audible subscription.
If, on the other hand, you have a iPhone or iPad, using the Audible application, you can only check the expiration date of your subscription if it has been deactivated (a notification appears at the top). However, by starting the browser installed on your device (eg. Safari), by connecting to the main page of Audible and accessing the section See i dettagli dell'abbonamento of your account as I indicated in the previous paragraphs, you can both view the status of the subscription and proceed with reactivation.
In case of problems
If you have followed the instructions I have given you in the previous paragraphs in detail but are experiencing problems relating to the deactivation of your subscription, you can try to solve your problems independently by following the instructions provided on the Audible website or send a request assistance.
From your computer, connected to the main Audible page, log in to your account and click on the button Help top right. On the newly opened page, choose the option Cancel your subscription to try again to turn off automatic renewal or click on the entry read on to view the wizard.
If, on the other hand, you want to get in touch with Audible customer support, click the button Contact us at the top right, choose the option Manage your subscription, select the voice Cancel your subscription using the drop-down menu in the section Choose the topic and choose one of the contact options available from Telephone ed Email.
In the first case, enter your phone number in the field Your number and choose one of the options from call me now e Call me in 5 minutes. If, on the other hand, you prefer email assistance, enter theobject of your request, describe the problem found in the appropriate field and, if you wish, click on the item Attach file to load any screens (in this regard, my guide on how to make screens may be useful). Press the button send email to send your report.
If you prefer to receive assistance from your smartphone or tablet, start the Audible app, tap the button ≡ at the top left (on iPhone press the icon of three dots bottom right) and choose the item Settings.
In the new screen that appears, choose the solution you prefer among Call customer service to initiate a phone call to the free number 800.784.849 e Write to customer service to send an email to [email protected].
